Sign Up Now for Junior Zookeeper Camps for Kids
at Wildlife West Nature Park
Wildlife West Nature Park is now taking registrations for their week-long Junior Zookeeper Day Camps in Edgewood. Children between the ages 8 to 12 years get a rare opportunity to experience up close and learn about New Mexico’s native wildlife and observe what the zookeepers do on a daily basis. They will interact with animals in a safe and educational environment, make toys for the wildlife, observe their behavior and get behind the scenes tours led by the zookeepers. This five-day camp runs for three weeks from 9 a.m. to noon on June 11-15th, June 18-22th and June 25-29th.
The camps are taught by two certified teachers who will cover everything from zoo-keeping and bird-watching techniques, to animal enrichment projects. Children will learn about the care and basic biology of native wildlife and plants. This outdoor, active educational program helps children develop life-long values about wildlife and the environment as they learn all about the animals at Wildlife West, including the newest arrivals – Bob the bobcat and four adorable, tree-climbing grey foxes.
The camps are $30/child for families who live in Santa Fe County thanks to funding from Santa Fe County, or $70/child outside this area. Daily snacks and drinks along with a family barbecue at the end of the camp will be provided. Space is limited, so register now by going to www.wildlifewest.org to obtain the registration form which needs to be mailed along with payment, or stop by Wildlife West at 87 North Frontage Road, Edgewood. For more information, call 505-281-7655.

Kid Goat Yoga is back at Wildlife West for another great season of fun! Classes will be held starting Friday, May 18th and will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Our certified yoga teachers will lead yogis through a fun, interactive class alongside playful goats. Each class begins with the opportunity to bottle feed the goats. Then, relax your way through a yoga sequence that combines a variety of poses and styles. Snuggle up with a goat during child’s pose or let a goat join you for plank- on your back!
Yoga style is Hatha, so its appropriate for all ages. Class size is limited to 20 students.
Classes are one hour and a half in length, the first 15 minutes or so feeding our babies, the remainder of the time practicing yoga with our babies. Its a lot about hugging and playing with our babies and a little about yoga. Everybody who wishes to participate can sign up online, here at EventBrite. Ticket purchases are final. No refunds will be made. However, should your class be cancelled for weather, you will be given a raincheck.
Everyone who wishes to attend must have a ticket and all ticket sales must be purchased in advanced online! Ticket Prices: $20 per person. This includes admission to Wildlife West Nature Park.
