East Mountain Chamber of Commerce
Board Meeting—April 13 , 2007
Call to Order: The monthly board meeting of the East Mountain Chamber of Commerce was called to order by President Bill Walters at 9 a.m. at the Cedar Point Grille.
Board Members Present: Ellen Ashcraft, Jeffrie Burdette, Cindy Newman, Rohnn Sanderson and Bill Walters
Others in Attendance: Julie Albright
Approval of Minutes: Cindy motioned and Jeff seconded the approval of the minutes from the March 9 board meeting. All approved. Jeff motioned and Cindy seconded the approval of the minutes from the April 5 membership meeting. All approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Jeff says we have $5,137.98 in our operating account. He and Rohnn are closing out the account with Bank of the West. He’s not clear how much is in the golf tournament account, but is working on gaining access to that account.
Committee Reports:
Golf: Aug. 23 is the locked-in date for the gold tournament at Paa-Ko. Rohnn will put down a $500 deposit which will go toward the tournament expense. Rohnn will provide Cindy with a list of what Paa-Ko will do. Ellen motioned that this happen, Cindy seconded, and all approved. Cindy mentioned that on of the car dealerships wanted the Chamber to cover insurance costs for a vehicle for the hole-in-one contest, but the board agreed that we should not have to cover such a cost given all of the exposure the car dealership would receive from the event. The golf committee will approve items being donated and gift bag items. Golf cart sponsorships will be $50. Cindy will announce the criteria re: gift donations at the next membership meeting.
Enterprise Training: Bay said the training session received good evaluations. The next session, featuring Rohnn Sanderson on business forecasting, will be July 12. The board would like to see sponsorships locked in by June 1. While final numbers aren’t ready, it looks like the first training session netting the Chamber more than $200 and one new member.
Respectfully Submitted,
Ellen K. Ashcraft, Secretary
