General Meeting Minutes Outline
July 7, 2011
President Suzy Clay called the meeting to order at 11:45am. Meeting was conducted at the Well Fargo Bank, Tijeras Branch. Suzy thanked the Bank for once again making this location available.
Board Members present were: Suzy Clay, Peggy Moeller-Mead, Bob Brittain and Linda Eaglefeather were present. Absent were Deea Emmons, Paul Mendoza, and David Saegart.
New Member Presentation:
Previously scheduled presenter was unable to attend.
Current Member Presentation: BBVA Compass Bank provided an update on this full service Bank. It is a small Albuquerque bank with 13 branches and has been in the community since 1972. They have special mortgage programs for lot, residential, and renovation loans. First time home buyer loans are 3% down if you qualify. Professional loans up to $10M are at 5% down.
Guest Speaker: Deb Stefan of East Mountain Interagency Fire Protection Association (EMIFPA) provided a very timely presentation. First she stated that the fire restriction in the Sandia National Forest was for safety and to make sure resources are used for fighting fires, not searching/rescuing people stranded in the Forest. At this time resources from various locations are being prepositioned in the East Mountains in the event of fire. If there is a wild fire the order of notification is: door-to-door, text msg from Bern Co, reverse 911, local media.
Sue Hanson shared with the Chamber information about reflective signs for your home. When available they are installed by the fire department. If interested contact her at 761-5446.
Old Business: Suzy Clay thanked the PNM member, Amy Miller for the $1000 contribution made to help needy children attend the Breakfast with Santa.
1. The September meeting will be focusing on the Breakfast with Santa planning and selection of members to participate on various planning committees.
2. Suzy Clay shared with members her plans for an Evening Mixer. She indicated she will be discussing this with Greenside Restaurant and is planning a date for late July or early August. Members will be notified as soon as plans are final.
3. Meeting for August will be at the Los Vecinos Community Center.
Treasurer’s Report: Bob Brittain reported that as of the end of June we have $6750.54.
Drawing for Member of the Month: Congratulations to the Sandia Peak Ski Area.
Info Date for Chamber Voice: Deadline to Ellen Ashcraft is July 15 for the July 28th issue.
New Members: No new members to report. However, we currently have 88 paid up members.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:00pm.
