Minutes of East Mountain Chamber Luncheon Meeting on March 6, 2014
The meeting was called to order at 11:48 am by President Rachel Donovan. Officers and directors present were Rachel Donovan, Kara Schug, Bill Herman, Jose Madera, Suzy Clay, and Julie Albright, Administrator.
Introductions were made and members and guests were encouraged to share a success story regarding their business or personally.
The scheduled speaker was not able to attend.
Nancy Carpenter with Automated Systems shared the joint vision of the chamber’s new website she and the chamber board have been working on. This project will be implemented over the next year.
Guests from Bernalillo County Economic Development, Marcos Gonzales and Shawn Perry-Turner discussed that they are working towards making small businesses not just survive, but thrive. They also announced that Bernalillo County Commissioner Wayne Johnson will be sponsoring a Free Small Business and Entrepreneur Summit on March 29th in Tijeras at the James McGrane Public Safety Complex. Suzy Clay from Clayco Marketing announced that Habitat for Humanity and the Salvation Army will pick up excess furnishings in the east mountain area.
Bill Herman, Treasurer reported that the Chamber had $7,070 in the bank. In February, we had income of $1280.00 and expenses of $1231 for a net income of $49.
The winner of the member drawing of the month was Your Dental in Tijeras.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:45. Board of Directors meeting to follow.
