EM Residents,
NOAA has updated today's weather conditions to "red flag" status for a significant portion (including the EM) of NM, starting at 1 pm, and lasting until 7 pm this evening. Predictions of high winds, low relative humidity, and high Haines values (a measure of atmospheric instability) characterize today's weather. The complete discussion is linked here: http://forecast.weather.gov/wwamap/wwatxtget.php?cwa=abq&wwa=red%20flag%20warning.
We recommend that you bookmark the following two web sites: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/abq/, and http://www.srh.noaa.gov/abq/?n=forecasts-fireweather-dss. These two sites should be reviewed daily as you prepare for work. They are invaluable planning tools, and allow you to keep your situational awareness focused.
EMIFPA always encourages you to stay engaged and prepared for the potential wildfire disaster in our region. Remember, if you see or smell smoke, always call 911 immediately. Report it, don't ignore it!!
