Spring has arrived; it's a time of renewal, and with it comes some exciting news from the East Mountain Chamber.
We are happy to introduce Gail Rossi as our new Administrator. Please come meet her at our Thursday, 5/05/16 luncheon meeting at 11:30 am.
While Julie Albright will be missed, she has moved out of the area and begun writing the next chapter of her life. We wish her all the best after many years of service.
Meanwhile, Gail is looking forward to moving the Chamber to the next level in terms of increased membership, exciting networking events, updated newsletters and more. Gail brings with her a plethora of experience in the business world, including working in conjunction with various Chambers of Commerce.
She will be introducing herself to all in good time, but meanwhile, please feel free to reach out to her via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. She welcomes input from you and any tips, suggestions, ideas or info that might help her to acclimate quickly and provide the great support you look for from the Chamber, which brings me to the next topic of interest.
This is YOUR Chamber. We are here to partner with you, and increase your outreach to the community you and your businesses serve. Our goal as your Chamber of Commerce is to help promote your company and facilitate great connections.
Sarah Edgell, manager of Sandia Park Self Storage, will be speaking at our 5/05/16 luncheon about networking being the key in building anyone's business and making your presence known throughout the community. It is easier to do business with someone if you have a relationship with the other business profession, know about their business and what they do.
While we wish it could be as simple as paying your dues and waiting for the business to come knocking on your door, it requires participation on the part of our Members.
We would like to know what we can do to help our local businesses achieve and maintain the type of success we all strive for, so we welcome your input.
The monthly luncheon meetings give you a chance to not only socialize, kick back and enjoy a great meal from a local member restaurant, they allow you to do invaluable networking, and offer so many opportunities -- from arranging cross-marketing programs (a win/win/win for all, including you, your business "partner", and your clients), trades for service, and a myriad of other benefits.
The 5/05/16 luncheon will be provided by Greenside Café and have a Cinco de Mayo theme.
Please bear with us while we implement some new programs, policies and protocols. This is timely in view of the new bylaws going out, and a new season and fresh ideas coming in.
We are proud to be an integral part of this wonderful community, and to continuing to make it an even better place to work, live and thrive.
Nancy Carpenter, President
East Mountain Chamber of Commerce
