Greetings from the East Mountain Chamber of Commerce!
I am pleased to report that the intensive audit to update our website and make current our Membership information is nearly finished. At this point in time, we have at least 70 active (paid) members for 2016, with new applications coming in regularly.
I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to those who may have received requests for unpaid invoices that were erroneous. I assure you that I am working diligently with Gail, our new Administrator, to correct any existing deficiencies in our records prior to the current month. We are looking forward to having a clean slate to work from going forward.
On that note, we are looking forward to our monthly luncheon meeting on Thursday, June 2nd at 11:30 a.m. at the Los Vecinos Community Center. We are excited to have the following speakers:
1) New Member Speaker: Melanie Peak of Peak Performers will familiarize us with her business and what they do.
2) Guest Speaker: Andrew Spears, Financial Advisor for Edward Jones will speak about how to plan for retirement as a business owner.
3) Guest Speaker: Cabinet Secretary Myles Copeland and Deputy Cabinet Secretary Kyky Knowles will speak on behalf of Aging and Long-term Services for the State of NM.
Lunch will be provided by Trail Riders Pizza. The cost of the luncheon is $10 per person, which may be paid at the door that day. If you haven't already done so, please RSVP so we know how much delicious food we'll need prior to the day of the luncheon.
WARNING! SPOILER ALERT: We are planning a fun-filled Summer Networking Celebration in July or August 2016 to Network and to Honor our local policemen, firemen, and first responders. Stay tuned for more information or contact us if you want to nominate anyone to honor or help with the planning.
We hope to be seeing many more friendly faces at our upcoming meetings and events, between new members and prospective new members, as we grow our Membership to serve our wonderful community.
I urge you to log into the Chamber website soon and often to stay abreast of current affairs within the East Mountains. Go to the Directory tab to check out how your business is listed. Make sure it is updated to your advantage.
We invite you to please reach out to us with any suggestions, requests, feedback or input of any kind. Our goal is to provide the kind of support you look for from a Chamber of Commerce, and your participation is the key ingredient.
