New Band at Wildlife West’s Chuckwagon

Come hear Watermelon Mountain Jug Band this Saturday night, July 2nd, at Wildlife West Nature Park in Edgewood. This popular sunset summer Chuckwagon Barbeque and Western Music concert series is held every Saturday night until Labor Day.

The show starts at 6 p.m. with a special free-flight Peregrine Falcon demonstration presented by world-renowned falconer Tom Smylie. The audience will experience these magnificent birds close up and learn how the fastest raptor on earth survives in the wild. Then a delicious cowboy BBQ dinner at 7 p.m., followed by music from Watermelon Mountain Jug Band from 8-9 p.m.

Check Wildlife West’s website www.wildlifewest.org for the schedule of the different bands that will play throughout the summer. Come early, enjoy a hayride and get a rare opportunity to be close to wildlife in their natural habitat. The Wildlife West zoo is home to 24 species of native wildlife, including their newest arrival, two 9-month old cougars along with a 500-pound black bear, elk, javelina, hawks, crested caracaras and much more.

Chuckwagon dinner shows are $25/adults, $23/seniors, $12/child 5-11, and kids under 5 are free.  Reservations are required by 2 p.m. on the day of the show. It's fun for the entire family.  The show is presented in a covered all-weather amphitheater in an old west atmosphere.

Call Wildlife West for reservations at 505.281.7655 or for more information www.wildlifewest.org.
