EMIFPA (East Mountain Interagency Fire Protection Association, www.emifpa.org) is holding a special session Saturday, October 15th, 2016 in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week. This will be held at the Tijeras East Mountain Public Library. We will have Simtable (https://www.simtable.com/) conducting a Dog Head Fire simulation on their computer sand table modeling tool. Because this sand table is computer driven, they will be able to inject potential variables about what could have taken place, as well as the actual progression of the fire.
We will have 2 sessions available for the public. Space is limited to 15 people per session, so please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know which session you plan to attend. The first session is from 12 noon until 1:30 pm, and the second session will run from 2 pm - 3:30 pm. Sign up is on a first come first serve basis.
This should be a fascinating and highly informative session(s). Send your RSVP as soon as possible, since we expect a tremendous amount of interest in this program.
As always, EMIFPA advises all residents to be aware, be prepared, and be self reliant. Fire conditions in our area are presently "moderate". As always, Report It, Don't Ignore It! If you see or smell smoke, call 911 immediately.
