Ignition on the Sulphur PG prescribed burn has been stopped. Units 1 and 2 of this prescribed burn were completed. Unit 3 was not started, and opportunities for a fuels reduction prescribed burn on this unit will be looked into over the next months. All objectives in units 1 and 2 were reached, and no more ignition is planned in this area at this time. DO NOT call 911 to report this smoke. Personnel are well aware of the smoke. Please keep the 911 hotline open for emergencies.
Sandia Ranger District fire personnel will be monitoring this area over the next few days. Expect to see smoke for several days, but all smoke will be from interior areas and pose no threat to the surrounding area.
