Letter from the President

Dear Members and Friends,

As we move rapidly toward the holidays and a new year, we look forward to voting in new candidates from our Membership to serve on the 2017 East Mountain Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors at our upcoming luncheon meeting on Thursday, 11/3/16. If you cannot make it to the meeting, we will be sending an email out to all our membership so you all can vote by responding to that email.  We will also be reviewing and voting on updated by-laws.

Additionally, we will be discussing this past year in review as we head into 2017.  As always, we implore you to participate by sharing your ideas, utilizing the East Mountain Chamber website (if you need instruction as to how to do that, please speak up!) and being proactive in terms of the formation of Committees such as being the voice of the Chamber through social media, becoming ambassadors welcoming new Members, brainstorming to suggest new and exciting events, networking opportunities, etc. We cannot impress enough upon our valued Members that this is your Chamber, and we are here to support you, help promote you, advocate for you, and to enhance the quality of life and revenue in the East Mountains. In order to do this effectively, we need your input, your ideas and a bit of your time and energy to succeed! Please be proactive with us! We are always happy to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

Along with bringing your business cards, please participate in our New Member Welcome Packet by providing us with flyers, brochures, coupons, and/or other literature you would like included for local businesses coming on board as new Chamber Members. This is not to be confused with the New Resident Packets, our realtor members are distributing to future residents. This welcome packet is to be given exclusively to those businesses that will be joining our Chamber. This is a great opportunity to promote your business by welcoming new members with "Member Only" coupons, discounts on merchandise/services or other specials as you see fit. Since we are growing at a healthy rate, please bring those items with you to Thursday's luncheon meeting so we can start promoting your business while welcoming those just starting out as Members!

We look forward to a productive meeting. Burger Boy will be providing a wonderful lunch, and we will be honoring the terrific owners and staff for all of their generosity and assistance throughout the year.

We will also be welcoming new member speaker Mary Dammann of Hard Water Solutions Plus. We already know Mary as the Office Manager for member Re/Max Pros in Cedar Crest. Mary is an Independent Distributor with the GMX Corporation and most recently with Vulcan Water Products and has been in Business for 16 years. As an environmentally conscious individual, Mary was looking for a safe, effective, no salt product to treat the hard water problem in her East Mountain home. As she discovered a magnetic technology that worked in her home, her husband and her decided to share it with friends, family and the community.

We will look forward to welcoming the coming season with a new Board of Directors, further growth, and a fabulous future for the East Mountain Chamber of Commerce. We will see you Thursday; don't forget to RSVP and let us know any special dietary requests at least 24 hours in advance of the luncheon meeting!

Sincerely,

Nancy Carpenter, President

East Mountain Chamber of Commerce
